I went back to camp this summer. It allowed me to regroup and to make deeper connections to the staff that I love. Camp is my happy place and the people are really what make it that. | This year, I kept my same roommates, Victoria and Christina, but we added a fourth roommate, Javier. He has made me a more open and confident person and I am so happy with the person he is allowing me to be. |

Something that isn't really showcased is failure. In my fall semester, I applied to be a part of my sorority's executive council for the second time. Although I was not able to get a position, I did get to work in my sorority in a different way through various appointed positions that I truly loved. | The Drury Lady Panthers basketball team made it to the final four this year! They had an undefeated season until a tough loss. It was great to get to follow their journey and cheer them on from the stands. |
In the spring of 2019, I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Midwest Regional Conference for Music Therapy. I was able to meet and learn from MT professionals and MT students. There was a specific student conference before the main conference which allowed me to connect with students and learn from them which I really enjoyed. Every time I go to a conference, MT feels more and more like what I should be doing. |
Junior Year is hard. In the first semester, it seemed like everything was going wrong. My Grandma was in and out of the hospital, my schedule was crazy, I was working two jobs, and I did not get some of the things that I felt I rightly deserved. It was full of a lot of doubt. Doubt about myself and my abilities as well as doubt about my major. Despite this, I was still able to maintain my high GPA and make the Dean's List. In my second semester, things started looking up. I did a lot of soul searching and continued to work hard. I took more classes, learned about topics that really peaked my interest, and truly solidified my decision that music therapy is the coolest thing.
