Working Hard
Recruitment
Sorority life is something that has been really big for me. I was able to find my place with my sisters. I have gotten to give back to my community and have gotten so much out of sorority life. This fall, I was able to be a part of my first sorority recruitment as an active member. i was able to help find my new sisters and it meant the world to me. This picture is from our fall bid day. It was Friend's themed.
Shades of Green
I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer at Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri's event, Shades of Green. This event brings all kinds of Girl Scouts together for a large event. I was able to volunteer at the event at the camp booths. I even got to meet the CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA. It was such an amazing experience.
AMTA Conference!!!
The weekend before Thanksgiving, I was given the opportunity to attend the American Music Therapy Association national conference. It was so amazing for me to get to meet so many people who knew what music therapy was! This conference made me really excited for my future and helped me to find out what I want to do with my life.
Vice President - Community Service
I was incredibly honored to be chosen as Kappa Delta's Vice-President of Community Service. I get to plan and run our philanthropy events for Girl Scouts and Prevent Child Abuse America. Service is something very near to my heart and I am incredibly blessed to be chosen to take on this task.
AFLV Greek Leadership Conference
February 09, 2018
I was given the amazing opportunity to attend the AFLV Central Greek Leadership Conference. This conference brings together Greek Life members from all over the country. I attended many different amazing workshops on philanthropy, recruitment, and many other topics. I even got to hear Vice President Joe Biden (aka the love of my life) speak about sexual assault on college campuses. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
Shamrock & Child Abuse Prevention
March 02, 2018
As Vice President of Community Service for my sorority, I got to plan and execute our Shamrock Week. This week is a week of fundraising for Prevent Child Abuse America and Isabel's House, a local crisis nursery. At the end of the week, we have a spaghetti dinner called "Spaghetti Festa". Through this week, we were able to raise over $1000 for the prevention of child abuse!
This year was one of the biggest challenges. I had no idea how hard sophomore year would be. I was busier than ever and was working harder than I ever had. All of my hard work paid off. In the first semester. I achieved the highest GPA since coming to college.
Over this year, I was a member of my sorority's executive council and planned our largest fundraising event! I also was working hard on myself and my leadership skills. It was a year of growth and hard work.
